Mentorship

Training the next generation of climate researchers

At CRG, mentorship is a core pillar of our mission. We provide structured academic and research training to M.Sc. and B.Sc. students who work closely with our researchers through supervised projects, technical workshops, and collaborative publications. Our mentorship approach emphasizes analytical rigor, geospatial competence, scientific writing, and ethical research practice.

Several of our mentees have successfully published their findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals, reflecting the quality of guidance and research culture within the group. We are committed to transforming students into confident, independent climate scientists capable of addressing complex environmental challenges.

In 2026, CRG aims to expand its mentorship network by collaborating with Ph.D. candidates working in climate-related fields, including climate variability, extreme events, hydroclimatology, climate modeling, and sustainability science. We seek to foster interdisciplinary research partnerships that enhance innovation and global visibility.

Importantly, our mentorship program is not limited to students of Kaduna State University. We welcome motivated students and early-career researchers from other institutions who are interested in advancing climate research and contributing to resilience-building efforts in Nigeria and beyond.
